What will your day look like?

In the role of Junior Data Strategy Consultant within our VML MAP Transformation practice, you will be a crucial part of our Data Transformation team. Your interest in data strategy will enable our clients to make strategic, data-driven decisions, thereby enhancing their digital communications. Here’s what a typical day might involve:

  • Collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to understand and integrate business and marketing objectives through the lens of data. This involves discussing key goals, the scope of current data initiatives, and potential strategies for leveraging data.
  • Contributing to the team by demonstrating a keen interest in strategic aspects of business challenges, thereby aligning with the company’s goals of shaping future industry standards.
  • Diving into new projects that stretch current capabilities, eagerly embracing challenges that require quick learning and adaptation to enhance skills across both technical and business domains.
  • Participating in team discussions and brainstorming sessions to contribute fresh ideas and perspectives that drive the business forward, reflecting an eagerness to initiate change and innovation.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest industry trends and best practices in data-driven customer engagement, loyalty, and marketing technologies to guarantee that clients are employing cutting-edge tools and strategies.
  • Critically evaluating the quality, integrity, and structure of data sources to ensure accuracy and optimal organization, thereby maintaining the reliability of data systems.
  • Extracting data from CRM platforms, web analytics tools, and paid media platforms via point-and-click reporting interfaces or SQL queries, ensuring accurate and timely retrieval of datasets for comprehensive analysis.
  • Analyzing complex data and providing actionable insights into business-related questions via automated reporting solutions, exploratory data analysis in Excel, or applying statistical models to understand trends and patterns.
  • Storytelling through compelling dashboard/report layouts and polished PowerPoint presentations to illustrate findings and produce recommendations.

  • Proficiency or willingness to learn spreadsheet tools like Excel, data analysis languages on-the-job like SQL or Python, data visualization tools like Power BI, Looker, Azure, etc.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, marketing automation, and customer data platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent English proficiency (both written and spoken).
